Off The Grill Company Catering and More began in 1999. Its founders, Ray and Helen Barrow,
started cultivating their love for grilling and serving great food in their childhoods. Ray started
grilling with his mother in their backyard. His first grill was an open pit that was built by his
uncle. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ray regularly joined his mother and her friends for Atlanta
Falcons’ tailgate parties. He learned tips from tailgating grill masters and inherited a
commitment to providing quality service from his mother. She taught him how to make sure
his guests enjoyed good food and even better, fellowship.
Helen Clark Barrow grew up in Toccoa, Georgia, where her family gardened and stressed the
importance of eating fresh spices, fruits, and vegetables. As a child, Helen learned how to cook
in large quantities without losing homemade taste. Helen combines southern style recipes
with her appreciation of foods from around the world to create unique flavors for traditional
side dishes.
Off the Grill’s clients include Iron Mountain, Turner Broadcasting, Envision, Macy's, United Parcel
Service (UPS), the University of Georgia, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., International Hotel
Group (IHG), Spelman College, Morehouse College, Fulton County Government, The Family
Health Centers of Georgia, Inc., Saint Philip AME Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Rainbow Elementary School (Decatur, Georgia), The Waldrof School- Atlanta (Atlanta, Georgia), Retired Transit Workers Union of America - Atlanta Chapter and Union Chapel United Methodist

Off the Grill expanded its brand to include its original sauce, Barrow-Q Sauce.
